The chickens are coming home to roost.

I warned about the confirmation of Roberts and Alito. My friends, this is only the beginning. You are dealing with the Ratzinger Court. A certain block in this court believes women's rights are subservient to the imperatives of a (non-existent) divine order. The Scalia-Thomas party actually believes that abortion is murder. As far as they are concerned, it is a despicable Shoah. Welcome to the world of weird metaphysics. Welcome!

I am angry.

What pisses me off the most is people like Scalia et al. actually pretending the Bible tells us anything about abortion. Even their half-assed arguments about homosexuality at least have marginal (but questionable) textual support. For abortion, they have zip. Zilch. Zero.

As a Christian, this fucking pisses me off. My Bible doesn't tell me abortion is murder. This certainly is not a "Christian" principle. It's a political one, and disingenuous scumbags like these try to make it into a "religious" one so that it grabs people.

And fuck if they're not succeeding.

How about a link or explanation of SCOTUS is???

Shit! I wish I'd known about this earlier, I would have gone.

It looks like Jessica is the blog editor at the NARAL site....I'd like to know what she thinks about the objections that have been made about NARAL's latest (in)actions, particularly those that are being raised by Jane at Firedoglake.

I mean honestly, how can they justify endorsing Lieberman ahead of a more pro-choice candidate, when Lieberman voted "yes" on Alito's cloture vote, the only one that could even possibly have stopped him from getting on the court?

I'm skeptical of any organization that endorses based on one issue. It's short sighted, and doesn't reflect the complicated nature of politics.

im not posting in the right article, but has anyone else noticed the complete political move by roberts to release the biggest ussc decision affecting women in years, the day after the VT incident when media would miss it. i have studied the court and this was absolutely a calculated decsion and it worked. it got lipservice on the news last night and we're still being inundated with disturbing pictures of a seriously ill young man because thats what gets the rating! im pissed and rambling and i want to cry.

Don't worry i'm right there with you. Yesterday i was crying because i was so pissed that CNN only spent about a minute on the topic.
