WAM!
So we made it to Cambridge for the annual WAM conference and it has already been tons of fun. Best moment so far? As I was registering a woman casually asks me where the registration is. I turn around and it is Cynthia Enloe. I embarrassingly and very uncooly blurt out "OMG you are Cynthia Enloe!" and she said, "Yes and you are?" Celebrity feminist sighting #1.
Yeah, we are dorks. Expect more updates.

Weird - I'd never heard of her, but it turns out that she's going to be speaking at a conference in my town this Wednesday. I'll have to go and tell her you said hello!
I had Enloe for Comparative Politics (or something like that). I had know idea she was widely known. I found her to be unremarkable as a prof. Incidentally, I also had Hoff Sommers as a prof. Clark University was quite the hotbed of feminist thought.
