Law & Order SVU on the Quiverfull movement
Holy shite. I'm watching Law & Order SVU right now and they totally have a quiverfull family on, except they're calling it the "replenish" movement. Priceless.

Really? Damn, I missed it. I was watching the season finale of Dirt.
I'm a sucker for FX shows. I like the Riches a lot, too.
Quiverfull - eww. Am I the only one who is totally creeped out by that word? Obviously most - if not all - of us find the concept to be disgusting, but even without the meaning behind it, the word "quiverfull" gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Yeah, I dunno if it's more disturbing to think of the woman as an empty vessel to be filled, or the young men as ammunition to be spent.
Either way, ewww.
It's weird that SVU might be the only L&O on TV next year. end of an era. I wish the L&O: Original Recipe would go out with a little more dignity that the desperate Anna-Nicole-stunt, though.
I was just watching that too, the ending was awesome and creepy.
I'd regret that I missed it, except that L&O:SVU is re-run ad nauseum on USA.
And also: ewwwwwwww. I've heard of this movement before and each time I shudder in horror a little more. God save me from being reduced from the sum of my parts to a single organ by anyone, even myself.
yay!
I love playing the how-long-after-something-is-in-the-news will it become an episode of law & order SVU game ...
that Dick Wolf is on top of things, man...
I love how they are the worst detectives ever and it never occurred to them it could be his son. The only thing that could have made it better is if, at the end, the mother would have taken the son's hand. But, hey, the father admitting he was wrong and he knew he couldn't change then clasping his hand was enough for me!
Damn, I missed the ending. It was totally Ted Haggard meets Quiverfull meets that Horrorhouse of Sin thing.
Mariska Hargitay, as always, and knowing it would be mentioned on Feministing the next day - best SVU episode ever.
