Check out Feministe's Jill's HuffPo piece on the proposed bill in Texas that would offer young women $500 (essentially $.07 per hour) to give their babies up for adoption instead of having abortions.

Sometimes I think the amount of discussion a piece of legislation will garner is inversely proportional to the chances of it actually passing, which is probably what universally loathed Senator Dan Patrick wanted to begin with.

Yet another example of the anti-abortion movement focused on polarizing politics instead of actually preventing unintended pregnancies or supporting families. As Donna Hall from Women Donors Network writes at RH Reality Check, Americans care about a range of reproductive health issues (not just abortion). So why don't politicians?

Check it out.
