Not your average role playing game.

I put this in humor but I think I need to start up a creepy category. This is basically D&D for pro-lifers.
Thanks to Nate for the link.

My thac0 is low enough with ranged weapons that I can make any called shot above the shoulders on abortion doctors!
Don't even get me started on my AC for when the cops come storming my hide out and pepper my ass with their bullets.
Plus I have a cloak of invisibility. ph33r
Actually, it seems as though it is designed from a pro-choice position - at least that's what I got from the product description and the single comment from someone who purchased it.
Either way, what an unusual game idea.
Isn't it supposed to be that you can play either side? I didn't see in the description that it favoured one side over another, but maybe I'm wrong.
But...but...Dungeons and Dragons is Satanic!!!

Isn't it?
Seriously, though, from the description it looks like you can approach it from either side. Still begs the question of why you'd want to play a game where you pretend to speak out on an issue rather than, say, actually doing it...is this what passes for "fun" now?
Verv, well, maybe you get the benefit of venting your frustration (in the form of violent protesting, perhaps?) without being exposed to the very real risk of physical harm from the anti-choice extremists (note: I'm not saying all anti-choicers are violent extremists. But plenty of them exist).
"why you'd want to play a game where you pretend to speak out on an issue rather than, say, actually doing it...is this what passes for "fun" now?"
Second Life, cyber sex, etc.
It does seem that there's a move for people to pretend to do something rather than doing something.
Yeah I couldn't really tell what perspective it was written from. Either way, it was just weird.
LF, you may be right. Getting to tell off the opposition without fear of retaliation would have its appeal...
On second look, though, I think this game has pro-choicers as its target market--just the name: CHOICE and BLOOD? Which sounds more appealing?
I think something intended for anti-choicers would use a more flattering word to represent their side, and a less appealing one for the choicers--"Life and Death" for example.
Actually, this isn't a game. It's a supplement for an existing campaign. So, say you're playing and your characters are on their way to, oh, rob a bank, but they come upon some wingnuts lying in the road. With this supplement the referee could reasonably approximate the typically illogical and asinine behavior of real nutters. Sounds fun to me.
It's d20, not D&D. d20 is the general roleplaying system, which can be adapted to any setting. D&D is the most popular general setting, based on epic fantasy. Needless to say, the people who wrote the supplement aren't importing abortion politics to fantasy settings.
When I went to look at the site I noticed this:
Customers who bought this product also purchased Prototype: Pimp Daddy
Ack.
I think you guys are missing the point here. This isn't a "game" so much as a scenario prototype for inclusion in another game.
Such as "if you have a game going and you want to do an abortion clinic 'thing' here are character archetypes and scenario rules." It isn't even about a "side", unless you really want to get uppity about the title, but really? The title is just part of the series like this one:

"Blood and Circuits". I don't think they are saying that "It is CIRCUITS OR BLOOD!!!!!one!"
