Ick.
That is all I can really say. Between this story and the serial killer that allegedly fed his victims to his pigs, I am so over reading the news.

This happened to me in California. It's not as uncommon as we might like to believe. The worst part for me, however, wasn't that the creepazoid was watching me undress, but that the prosecution in the case showed the video to about 10 aquaintances of mine, so that they could verify it was me, without my permission. I almost would rather he was never caught, because he didn't distribute the videos. I was treated as an object more by the court than by the sicko.
This just happened to me on December 4th at my tanning salon. I had the creep arrested and yesterday I got the paperwork from the DA's office that outlines my rights as a victim.
They're prosecuting him for a Class A Misdemeanor, Invasion of Privacy. I'm so glad, because this will follow him. Wisconsin has CCAP, which anyone can view any court record online.
I'm asking for restitution for my lost money that I paid for the tanning, because I couldn't bring myself to go again. *Shudder*
Man this shitty Pickton trial is driving me NUTS - I live in Vancouver and you just can't escape it right now. The whole language of it reminds me of a women's studies course I took in my undergrad where we studied the way women's murders were described in newspaper headlines. Many of the ones I can recall about this case almost exclusively refer to the women he killed as 'prostitutes' - which of course immediately makes them seem less important. Not to mention the fact that many of them were NOT prostitutes... but even if they were, it sickens me that the only way the media can think of to describe brutally slain mothers, sisters, and loved friends is "prostitute". Ugh.
