Our Feminist Tyranny will rule the world!!! Mwahaha!!!

Not too long after his article on global feminist terrorism at Rutgers (I'm an RU alumni myself; figures), my favorite misogynist David Usher seems to be on a roll with his new article, which has the best headline ever: “The Tyranny of Feminist Jurisprudence.

While the piece is on the release of Judge Robert Dierker’s anti-feminist book, he uses the occasion to go off on his usual tirade on how us feminist elitists are corrupting the nation with the spirits of our feminist Ku Klux Klan ancestors by our side. It's fucking hilarious.

I don't believe I've ever read so much vitriol with so little logic in my life. Does Usher even know how to support an argument, or is that too feminist for him?

Wait ladies and gents - suddenly I have a new found pity for men. Who knew they had it so hard? I'd just like to say I've changed all my opinions; men face discrimination too and -

Are you kidding me? As a woman and feminist who loves men, I'd like to say agreed Ledasmom - no he obviously does not know how to support an argument. He shows no statistics; he merely cites others' tripe when attempting to prove his point.

But really, I feel like I just read an article about an endangered species on the brink of extinction. Last I checked, the menfolk were doing just fine.

Let's all jump out of the shadows and go "Booga booga!!" at him.

I think he might actually wet himself.

Seriously, though--what the hell happened to this guy that he feels the need to make feminism and feminists into the Supreme Ultimate Boogeyman?
Did his mom drop him on his head, or did a little girl laugh at his weewee or something? Sheesh.

What the hell happened is that he went through a bad divorce, apparently. Check out Suffian v. Usher, 19 S.W.3d 130(Mo. 2000), in which he loses his bid for custody of the kids, despite not paying for their support, failing to attend to parenting duties, and making unfounded accusations of abuse against his ex-wife.

I love this one: "Every major study on domestic violence proves that men and women are equal initiators of serious domestic violence."

Can he point to one credible study that supports this?

lol, sojourner, i was about comment on that.

poor battered husbands...

This falls into the category of "true but meaningless." Studies done according to the Conflict Tactics Scale report that women initiate and, in some studies, escalate domestic violence as frequently as men do. However, women's violence "caps off" at a lower level, and the consequences of domestic violence on women's health, financial situation, psychology is far worse.

Also, the CTS does not differentiate between defensive and offensive violence, or -- for that matter -- between insults and threats of physical violence. The results it produces are useful, in a very limited sense (in that they provide an accounting of what happens within a single incident of domestic violence) but they do not mean what their main proponents say they mean.

MNObserver, wow. Thanks for the info.

While I personally think that men do currently get the short shrift in custody battles, talk about him being a bad poster child! He's not even a good example of the "poor beleaguered men" he purports to stand up for.

His conduct as a "judge" is simply reprehensible. Anyone who goes on a rant about sexual harrassment law AS A CONCEPT simply can't be upset when someone claims he's unfairly biased against them. This is a case of absolute abuse of power. That he hasn't been (figuratively) tarred and feathered already is a tribute to the remarkable restraint of those who actually give a shit about women.

Mein Gott!! These guys are really awful. Both of them. To think I share a profession with the likes of Knuckle Draggers likes of such "folks". One is a Judge? Ick. I sure hope that he does not hear any family law cases. Is the other a Law Professor or merely an RU alum? Anyway got to check out the court opinion. I mean I am a divorced father and all, but really. Bitter much? To have one's dirty linens aired in such a fashion, yikes. All I can say is "todo se paga" all is repaid!

Good Diety, I'm gone for a day and look what happens, the crazy people come out en masse.

Granddaughters of the KKK? Does he not know that there are women all over the world who can grasp the concepts of "freedom" and "choice" and "voting" and "education" and the like? Holy crap.
