Silenced voters.

Although, we are indeed happy with (most) of the election outcomes, I just wanted to mention all the folks that were not able to vote because of "something" tampering with their ability to do so.

You can read about them here
via Election Protection 365.

There also have been reports of misleading phone calls to likely voters, etc.

The media have been reporting this in a "both sides do it" manner and even implying that some of the Dem. wins were due to cheating (funny how when the GOP was winning, they ignored all of these stories or dismissed them).

Is there a truly un-biased source of information about who may or may not be behind some of these stunts? E.g. who was making those misleading phone calls in VA? Media's implying it was the Dems ("Webb won the vote, but there were misleading calls that may have misdirected voters away"), but do we really know which voters were targetted, etc?

Good point on the phone calls, DAS. That was actually the first thing I thought of, considering I live in VA. Here's an article that should answer most of your questions:

http://scoop.epluribusmedia.org/story/2006/11/7/215912/152

Summary: Allen has indirect money ties to an organization that is known to have pulled stunts virtually identical to this in the past. They advertise themselves as a "voter persuasion" firm. Several of their employees have been busted in the past for voter tampering via lying phone calls... all on behalf of Republican candidates.

The media blaming Webb for this is ridiculous, even without the money trail linking it to Allen, considering that the districts targeted were primarily Democratic.
