And you thought your boss was a dick
Two former waitresses are suing a Manhattan bar for sexual harassment--their boss forced female employees to be weighed. Cute.
"They told me I needed to get on the scale," said one of the women, Kristen McRedmond, about her humiliating experience in a manager's office at Sutton Place Bar and Restaurant in July."I told them I'm not going to be part of your sick game," recalled McRedmond, 27, who said she physically resisted when a beefy manager tried to pick her up to get her on the scale while another manager looked on.
The male servers weren't subject to the weigh-ins. One question, did the headline really have to say "weightress outrage?"

I am not sure why the fact that there is a web site with the body weights of women working at other establishments around town is somehow a minor detail in the story (mentioned way too matter-of-factly).
Pre-historic, knuckle-dragging apes. For pulling crap like this, I hope you guys get a huge judgement against you.
A CBS news story on the suit contained these tasteless puns:
"filed a massive lawsuit"
"Weighty issue"
"The lawsuit ... is certainly hefty. They hope to trim down the bar's assets with a multi-million-dollar suit."
I guess nothing's funnier than alleged discrimination! Imagine TV news making similar jokes in a story about ethnic discrimination.
So. Very. Creepy.
Seriously.
I would start bringing fried lard, doughnut, and avocado sandwiches for my dinners. OK, maybe not.
I can't even imagine, not even in Manhattan, how anyone could possibly think that was OK. Even knuckle-dragging neanderthal man-boys like the buttnuggets running that place.
