This is just too funny (and a little sad).
Of women who took part in a "Fantasy Survey" promoted by a drinks company, 45% said they valued shopping over sex. Only 26% voted the other way round.Three quarters of the women who took part described themselves as having a shoe fetish while 70% said they did not have enough clothes in their wardrobes. Almost half (48%) of women surveyed said men had no real understanding of their needs and desires.
Capitalist desire to replace dissatisfaction in sexual desire. Tragic! The survey also found that 63% of respondents felt that the world would be a more peaceful place if women were in charge. I think the world would be a more peaceful place if we actually tried, you know, peace.

Just wondering, could the AIDS epidemic play some role in those responses?
"I think the world would be a more peaceful place if we actually tried, you know, peace."
I love that. Thanks for giving me a little something to think about on the way home.
That's a good point, bear. Sex would probably be a lot less fun if one was constantly wondering if they were risking death.
I'd like to toss another serious suggestion out there: when there's such a high incidence of rape, does it de-eroticise sex?
I don't know, Prairielily. I think the best way to look would be to take multiple Western countries' rape rates and compare them to surveys asking people how much pleasure they find in sex (apparently, there are a lot of surveys like that).
I can try look at data over the next day or two and post about it on my blog. I've been meaning to write about rape and its social causes for a while anyway, so writing about social effects would be just as good, I suppose.
