Ew. President Bush tries to give German Chancellor Angela Merkel a creepy little back massage as he’s walking by her at the G-8 Summit. Her body language says it all. The video is here.

Does this man have no shame? What an embarrassment...on so many levels.

I don't suppose Russia has much in the way of sexual harassment law that might apply here?

There is a certain pathetic part of me that wants to give Bushie a break. I don't want to berate men for every gesture. Yet, this is obviously a good look at what is wrong with men's lack of respect for professional women. This video completly describes his lack of intellectualism, professionalism, and seriousness. He does'nt walk in the room and bounce around in a football stance with the men in the room, does he. No, he creeps up on her, because SHE is less threatning to him than any other man in the room. Besides, she'll probably like it! Not.

LA Times has a different take on President Bush's massage. Doesn't really jive w/ the video from above:

If you think that's bad, you should have been there that time he grabbed Ayatollah Khomeini's butt.

Cheers,

TH

ah, marking the sub as his bitch. priceless.

Funny, I don't see the (implied indulgent, doe-eyed) smile the LA Times was referring to. She looks more annoyed and/or squicked out to me.

As icky as that was, I'm not really shocked by Dubya's behavior--I already thought he was a creep. I'm far more distressed by this example of just how much obfuscation and "spin" our media puts on even minor incidents of bad Bushie behavior like this. If they're so blindly loyal as to claim "she liked it, they're pals!" about this (rather than the truth) it seems all the more likely they'll one day report "Dubya named best US President EVAH" when we're all living under his fascist dictatorship.

Kinda disheartening. Whatever happened to journalistic ethics, and the media's duty to report the truth to the people?

Why is the cursing getting more media attention than this? This is much more embarassing. Or it should be, at least. What an idiot.

The word planning is confusing, because it both describes a generic attribute that applies to all activities and simultaneously has been taken over as the core term for city-making and become synonymous with it. Broadly it means to anticipate futures and problems, to explore their possible impact, to describe what is wanted and how to get there in solving problems and to select strategies from among alternative courses of action, as well as a set of steps in reaching a goal. ‘A plan is like a map. When following a plan, you can always see how much you have progressed towards your project goal and how far you are from your destination.
