Anti-choice dodo talks to Salon.

As an update to the hilarious Onion piece (“I’m totally psyched about this abortion!) we linked to last month, check out Rebecca Traister’s interview with the anti-choice crazy who actually took the article seriously.

“Pete, founder of the anti-choice blog March Together for Life, tells Traister of his humiliation in misunderstanding the article’s satire, his confusing childhood, and his talks with Jesus Christ. (Yes, Jesus talks back.)

Man am I mad I am not a Salon member. The March Together for Life post was unbelievably funny, and I would love to read the interview. Damn!

I was going round in circles on that one and ended up in a zen garden.

Turns out you just have to click Enter Salon (in the zen garden) and it will take you to the interview.

"Yes, Jesus talks back."

*laughs ass off*

noname,

You can watch a short ad and Salon will let you in to read the article. Go back to the link and you'll see the option.

Thanks xyz and Vanessa. I couldn't figure it out at first, but once I turned off my ad-blocker it worked just fine.

I am pro-choice and a feminist. That is why I like Feministing. I'm also a Christian who talks to Jesus. Yes, I got a chuckle over the guy who didn't know that the Onion was satirical. However, I didn't laugh at him for talking to Christ.

I like how he claims germans do not understand humor, but later admits that his father and brother has been fooling him all his life - hmm perhaps its just his sense of humor that is non existant?

Aw, that made me feel kinda bad for him.

I felt bad for him too, especially about people calling his house. That's just scary.

Then I remembered that he wants to take away my right to choice, and I stopped feeling bad. Well, not about the phone calls and threats, because no one deserves that... including people who work at abortion clinics, eh Pete?

It's just obvious how dim the poor guy is--and then how he tries to say that *he* was being satirical, too... Oh, lord.

Margaret, I agree, the shot at Christianity was a low blow.

Christianity and Feminism are not mutually exclusive.

No one's laughing at him for talking to Christ. It's the idea of Christ talking back, normal conversation style, that's amusing. I didn't think He did that (add "anymore" if you wish).

Yes, Jesus still talks back. Our conversations are not one way. Thanks for responding anyway.

margaretleo,

i remember someone once telling me that prayer isn't about talking to god...

it's about listening to god.
