I fought the scooter and the scooter won

Sorry if I'm slow getting posts up today, or if they're lacking in length. I took a spill on my scooter yesterday; road burn and I are best friends right now.

Thanks for your patience!

You're alright?

I'll be fine. I got thrown off trying to go into second...I dumped the clutch and got thrown off. My ego is bruised worse than my body, but I'm def pretty banged up and sore. Nothing serious though...thanks for the concern!

I hope you were at least wearing a helmet and gloves. I'm just learning myself and always wear gloves, helmet, boots and jacket. I've dumped a bike several times and the gear did a great job of protecting me.

At least now you can use your really bad Brando impersonation when you yell at the scooter.

Use Hirudoid (or similar heparanoid) on bruises and Pure vitamin E capsules (d-alpha-tocopheryl acetate) on crusted grazes (with a little pure zinc oxide) to minimise scarring, grazes usually leave a permanent "dirty" scar. Even use pure zinc oxide on open wounds to facilitate healing.

I hope your ego and your booty are better soon. I applaude you for having the courage to hop in it in the first place - my husband's been trying to get me on his motorcycle for years. I just think about how clumsy we are on two feet and I'm terrified of what we could do on two wheels.

thanks for all the advice! yeah, i was wearing a helmet and gloves. but dummy that i am i decided it was too hot to wear a jacket so my arms got the worst of it. i also have a sick handle bar-shaped bruise on my stomach. pics to come.

You should check out the mesh jackets and pants that have become available from most of the major manufacturers. I own and wear a Joe Rocket Phoenix mesh jacket that provides protection and is alot cooler than leather or denim. Bought mine on Ebay during the winter. Cheap.
