Ann, I checked the Reuters story on the Pope's visit to Spain, and got the impression that the crowd booed Zapatero, period, presumably for his not being a homophobe. What makes you say he got booed for agreeing to meet the Pope?
You're right on Zapatero. My bad.
I'll delete that line...
The ABC headline about the soldiers is misleading. A more accurate version would probably read: "5 More Soldiers May Soon Be Charged", as the only thing that has changed is that investigators have asked the military equivalent of a grand jury to confirm that they have sufficient evidence to charge.
Thanks for the article on "mail order brides." Even with your snide asides and the dissaproving tone of the article, it still was a breath of fresh air to hear about women who are still ladylike, who still know how to treat a man, who aren't constantly trumpeting the battle cry of the 21st century feminist--"What about MY needs?" More and more tired men, sick of being blamed for every problem in the world while simultaneously asked to pay the freight on every female whim, are going to take this option--trust me on this. In the meantime, I now know of this company. Whatever else the article may have done, it did point out that A Foreign Affair does deliver as promised. I've passed the words on to some friends. I'm sure this post won't make it past your totalitarian screening process, but still--thanks, Feministing.com!
