AFAssholes attack Ford. Again.

Nerve pointed out yesterday how the new Ford ad has got the American Family Association’s panties up in a bunch. The new ad is a commercial that features two lesbians kissing. The audacity! Their response:

"Notice the wording at the bottom of the ad: 'Standing strong with America's families...' Since this ad was run in a homosexual publication, evidently Ford considers two homosexuals to be a 'family.'"

And you just figured this out?

You can find all of their ridiculous rants on the new site specifically created just for their Ford boycott. Their latest: “Ford supports polygamous homosexuality!

off topic:

I'm a 23 year old feminist looking to move to the West coast. I thought I'd be able to find a young feminist forum where I could find a few cool third wavers, ask some questions about cities. But I can't find any such forum. Do you all know of one? Alternately - let's make one.

it's so funny, most of the reasons why they want to boycott Ford are the reasons why i would support Ford. dum dum!

Why do right-wingers have such consistently terrible skills in web interface design?

The funny thing is, I too find the constant "lipstick lesbian" content annoying, only because it caters to frat boys. The blatant dude-on-dude ads all seem to be German. How rare and titilating is the prime time kiss shared by two hot men (hence that cowboy movie popularity)? I swear, if I have to sit through another "Cinemax After Dark" lineup featuring candles, saxophone soundtracks, and obligatory slow motion delicate girl-on-girl scenes, I may have to poke my eyes out. Just kidding...my fingers aren't broken, and I'm perfectly capable of finding decent smut.

What I find particularly absurd about these folks is that they bother to include

"To see what Ford sponsored, click here. (Warning! This scene is very offensive!)"

I mean, if their constituency is so offended, why provide them a convenient link to titillate--oops, I mean, offend them? What pervy hypocrites.

Yeah, Ford's funny that way. Kinda like considering the sun to be "hot and bright."

They ARE a family.

Aah, nothing like the good ol' homosexual agenda to get the holier-than-thous upset. Have they even defined what that agenda is? I know what the ever-so-frightening LGBT community is up to, but do they?

[0+]  Roni said:

Well they also seem to claim to know what the feminist agenda is. Somehow I keep missing the memo. Why don't they share it with us?

Thanks for the info. I usually don't listen to crap from groups like the AFA, and I suppose I should... to counter their voices. I just emailed Ford to let them know my objections to AFA's position. I wholeheartedly agree with Angel. Ford's respect for the diversity of people on this planet makes me want to buy their products.

You know, they're actually sincere when they say they don't hate lesbians.

True, they're doing their level best to grind lesbians into the dirt, but it's not motivated by hate.

It's just that they don't care, even a little, what happens to the people who get trampled under their boots.

Prrof once again, that the opposite of love isn't hate, but indifference.

Cold-hearted, inhuman indifference.

This is not indifference.

What’s the big deal? They are not bashing fathers or men or families just some girls kissin.

With no blatant men are useless message at all I might add?
Gawd there are plenty of companies that routinely bash fathers and men in their ads, why pick this one, just to show the world you are pathetic I guess?

And whoever made the comment; They could be bi-sexual, so what is the point of bashing frat boys for liking “lipstick lesbians, kind of intolerant and hypocritical of you.

Lesbians must be buthcy otherwise they are servicing the patriarchy?

I think it's hysterical that the AFA used the word 'polygamous' in reference to homosexuality. There's no polygamy where there's no marriage ('legal' marriage). Aside from that, Ford's interest is not in a customer's lifestyle...it's in their wallet. The AFA, to have more of an impact, should find a different target for their hate tactics. Ford would be wise to ignore these intolerant assholes because they can't really afford to lose any customers, can they?

"diversity is a code word word for homosexuality" hahahahahaha read the rest of the quote from that site below. they are such wackadoos!

Ford held the first automotive conference aimed at bringing diversity to the car industry. "Diversity" is a code word for homosexuality. By defining themselves as a minority such as African-Americans, homosexual activists seek to bolster their claims of needing special treatment. Encouraged by Ford, more than 100 multinational companies attended the meeting which, according to 365Gay.com, included a goal of "broadening the number of LGBT workers in the field." Read More
