Saudi King says no more pics of women

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has told newspapers to stop publishing pictures of women, for fear that the mere sight of them will lead young men "astray."

After a meeting with editors on Monday, the king was reported in the Saudi media as saying that "one needs to think if he would want his daughter, sister or wife to appear like that. Of course, no one would".

Newspapers have recently broken with tradition and published pictures of women with hair covered but faces showing.

Women's faces=men sinning. Obviously.

The country is still in medieval times psychologically, yet remains one of our "allies", despite the hatred within the country for the infidels like the US.

It is pathetic, to sell the countries principles for oil.

No its good it means that they wont be objectifying them!

Those women should try to live in North America for a day, white, middle class, first world feminists have it the worst, of all time!

You can tell because we complain so much we have made a very lucrative industry out of our oppression and called it modern feminism. We are still not privlaged or equal though!

Lucky Middle East girls.

So many trolls, so little time...

I wonder if they're just trying to make women disappear alltogether. I spent some time in Turkey several years ago-a veritable liberal metropolis compared to Saudi Arabia, no doubt- and you just don't see that many women at all. They're kept hidden away.

Is it so they will be more available for the "services" they're expected to perform? So they're easier to dispose of when men get tired of them?

Scary.

Would not Catherine MacKinnon agree with the Saudi Arabian practice of covering up women? She has been trying to do that in north america her whole adult life.
