Shameless self-promotion
Rachel Kramer Bussel interviewed me for the excellent NYC blog, Gothamist. Because you know you don't get quite enough of my rambling here.

Cheers,

Jessica, that was a great interview. One question: you feel comfortable using the word slutty? I personally hate that word and think that currently it's unredeemable. Given how much thought you put into your words, how do you justify its use?
Hey Jess you aren’t gonna believe me, but I found feministing.org first! I had no idea about your site till they linked to it a week later, the first day I posted here, they are not serious, it’s called a parody, it’s an extreme mockery of the “scene not just your site, it mirrors the fiest kick assness of this site.
whenever you try to define feminism it inevitably sounds hokey or contrived.
Why do you think that is?
I’ve been pretty amazed at the amount of anger that our posts have incited—there’s just something about feminism that gets guys’ panties in a bunch.
Do you consider this statement misandristic? I have provided more examples than just “I cant get a date?
That blame feminism for everything from their inability to get dates to increasing crime rates.
You cant be talking about this “troll.
Those are our men’s rights trolls! Too funny. I always wondered how they have time to maintain it with all of their “activism on behalf of men.
Hmmm hmmmm now why am I saying hmmmm. Your making money off women’s issues, running blogs, writing books, must make you busy? These guys are jokesters, writers with a message, much like you in your early days “bitching at liberal oasis and the site makes a small number of posts a month.
Hmmmm?
Or at least a kind of confusion as to why feminism is still relevant.
First world modern feminism, oh yeah big confusion! You can’t even define it, why is it relevant?
What are your thought on the concept that it is now serving to segregate the sexes Now being a more equal society and still having the majority of social focus on women? When instead we could very easily and more naturally now become more egalitarian?
Do you think any of this may relate to young men and women’s aversion to it?
I know feminists would lose money/careers but women would lose no protection.
