Hi, I just came here from the excellent interview you did on Gothamist! You know, I wonder if some people react negatively to your logo because they don't actually think that she's giving the middle finger? If I hadn't read your interview first, it would look to me like she's holding up her hand in a "woo hoo, let's party" type of gesture. And I would read *that* as ironic, but I don't know if many older feminists would. Possibly it would be much more clear if her finger were curved like a middle finger curves in real life. Anyway, thank you, this site looks great!
What is this elusive patriarchy? {I know, I know, I’ve been to college – still don’t wash though) Did Grandfather really oppress Grandma? Is My Dad oppressing my Mom?
Maybe its really a matriarchy, and you got us all hoodwinked?
Oooh, I hope they make even more slogans on the t-shirts! I've always thought that if I had some kind of money and the means, I'd make feminist t-shirts with little sayings and slogans. I do wonder if they'll ever take suggestions. :)
I don't know either fitz? I must have skipped that week in school when they were handing out male privilege?
So, when we destroy only the corrupt male elite and male politicos we will be left with corrupt elite female politicos, wow progress!
I think I see why elite men allowed for feminism in the first place!
It takes the focus off of them and instead criminalizes all men. As well as makes them feel their work is less meaningful as it was “handed to them. The elite meanwhile get off Scott free!
Keep working for the man ladies!
Buy a shirt!
Was I missing something or is the only displays of the shirts the gallery of the women wearing them? I was trying to see the designs on the shirts and instead found myself squinting at the breasts of several women. It's nice that the proprietors are real hot women but I really was trying to read the shirts.
Bear's right. Those shirts are designed, through use of nearly illegible letters, to get well-meaning people into trouble with feminists.
This war on men, especially white men is perfect for the government to rule the world. They are taking out the only group that can stop them, white men, and using their women to burden them!!!
Great strategy as we all know it was the woman vote that got Hitler into power.
Women vote on who is the best looking. As any woman at random what the major headlines were in the news that day. I've never heard a woman get that right. They usually don't even try to guess.
Why are women even allowed to vote. Oh I remember, to give more power to the state. Higher taxes to support woman's mommy states, were the women feel safe and empowered from the bad evil (propaganda) patriarchy.
Luckily women don't know what is going on in the world, nor have I met one that actually cared.
Awww, did the shirt sale end?
C'mon ladies we gotta keep the focus off the elite and denigrate all men instead now, don't forget you are feminists!
Great strategy as we all know it was the woman vote that got Hitler into power.
...Aaaand this thread is dead.
You let trolls kill your threads? I know troll-baiting is time-wasting and redundant, but they can be fun to play with sometimes.
You know, Patriarch, it was a woman who gave birth to Hitler too, so why don't you lay into women for that, since we're all collectively guilty of squashing the rights of poor little you? I have an idea: Why don't you and your ilk find a way that men can conceive, carry and birth babies, because I'm sure that if they did, every child born of a man would be a nobel laureate. THEN you could take over the world! You can't have the evil laugh, though...that's mine.
Sorry for the double post...just trying to share the eeeeeevil...
Because Sylke, if men were all of a sudden able to birth children, then women wouldn't have anything to hold over their heads for the rest of their lives.
What happened to the shirt pic and the web sites? Did our humble feedback help shut down "big sister shirt co."?
Just curious too, what happened?
Yeah, trolls are fun to play with, and I usually resist, but who could resist a straight line like Verlch's
"Luckily women don't know what is going on in the world, nor have I met one that actually cared"
with the apparent conclusion that "women don't care about current events" -- as opposed to the infinitely more likely "women who care about current events can smell people like Verlch a mile away and know both why & how to avoid them" :)
