Huh. This is gross.
As you may know, Rosie O’Donnell has been tapped to replace Meredith Vieira on ABC's The View.
The catch? Rosie can't look too butchy.
Rosie O’Donnell’s new mega contract with ABC has one absolute proviso: the former talk show queen cannot cut her hair. You may recall there was an uproar toward the end of Rosie’s run as a syndicated talk show host because she chopped off her locks to emulate Culture Club songstress Helen Terry.
O’Donnell’s enemies at Gruner + Jahr Publishing even used the wedge hair cut against her when they sued her for a million bucks after shutting down the “Rosie magazine. They lost that battle. But ABC apparently wants Rosie to look as glamorous as possible when she sits down on “The View among Joy Behar, Star Jones, and Debbie [sic] Hasselbeck.
Maybe they'll also make her sport mini skirts and make out with male guests. In the name of being "glamorous," of course.

Uh, if that were a requirement, why oh why would they hire Rosie?
If Walters is "done" with the View, why sabotage it by hiring some one who they don't really want to do battle with cohosts and guests who she doesn't get along with. Why not just cancel the show Babs?
Joy Behar, Star Jones, and Debbie Hasselbeck.
It's Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
Rosie did her butch thing in her "angry" days. I definitely think that the dynamic will be upset - mainly because she will clash with Star Jones and Elizabeth. I think she and Joy could run the show, albeit it would be outlandish, by themselves.
I don't care about her hair. I just like that Elizabeth H. has to sit across from a liberal lesbian every day and not growl and spit and show her true, evil conservative side.
You know, Rosie could totally take Liz.
I wish we'd heard a bit more about this from Rosie herself. Why does she go along with this?
What the hell is a songstress? Does that make me a drumstress?
Rosie admitted she hated that hair cut, that it was "too severe" for her. Putting in a no-haircutting clause doesn't make the show anti-butch. If anything, Barbara Walters chose Rosie because of the whole lesbian thing. She asked her at the premiere of her All Aboard movie (after she walked out crying, supposedly).
So, just being told not to cut your hair doesn't mean its an anti-lesbian thing.
And also? Can't wait to see Rosie kick Elizabeth to the curb...
Yeah that hair cut looks like ass, plain and simple, it really is about creating issues that aren't there in order to justify the continuation of a successful, yet now unneeded and long dead civil movement, feminism.
It's not about Elizabeth, but more about getting rid of Star Jones.
