For a good laugh, call Schlafly

Phyllis Schlafly’s latest, Does Feminism Control The Bush Administration?, will have you rolling.

Is President George W. Bush a feminist, or is he just a typical gentleman who is intimidated by feminists and unable to cope with their unreasonable demands, tantrums and rudeness? When it comes to public policy and personnel appointments, the result is the same.

Yeah, feminists are so intimidating. We rule politics with an iron fisting...I mean fist.

I know pointing out that Schlafly’s anti-feminism is definitely one for the duh-files, but I couldn’t help it. This reoccurring theme of all-powerful feminists pulling the strings of national policy is just too funny.

Stupid bitch. Honey, if we were in charge, do you think any of the following would’ve happened: John Roberts and Samuel Alito on the Supreme Court, the FDA removing health information from their website and passing on over-the-counter Plan B, that the VAWA would be so underfunded, that a rapist was appointed to oversee women’s health or child molestors in top offices of Homeland Security? And, not to ruin you’re man-haters theme, but we happen to care about other stuff too, like war, economy, environment, child welfare.
This is just... so... not worth more of my time.

I don’t know about "all-powerful feminists pulling the strings of national policy" but I would say they have a disproportional influence in the academy (like 1 to 0) and have been extremely influential in contemporary thought over the last 40 years. If the subject even touches on gender issues in any way, feminism has laid claim to the commanding heights of culture.

You gals should really give yourselves more credit. (always with the victim mentality)

Yeah in Canada we have the "status of wimmin" A government body that tells the elite and out of touch male politicos what the plight of women is in Canada. Being elite and out of touch they are inclined to agree, and common men stagnate in the education health justice systems, because any male politico would rather just go along than question and risk being labeled an anti-feminist in Canada’s liberal pro-women media.

It would then of course be up to the common man to speak up, except that the “Status of wymyn Will spend tax dollars to smear you or throw you in jail as a hate group for trying to raise men’s awareness.

Jessica did this same thing to me on this site; I question feminism so I am labeled an anti feminist. Incorrect, but fine for me, because it does not ruin my political career and run me out of office as a women hater.

To pretend feminism holds no power influence and sway in government is stupid. It does.
