"I had an abortion" shirt debate rages on
Bitch magazine is taking on the much debated shirt that declares, "I had an abortion."
Given the recent craziness over Frances Kissling's article on the value of the fetus and revelations that the Dems are considering a "big tent" approach on abortion, continuing this discussion is more important than ever.
For me, I understand that appealing to more moderate pro-choicers is important. But in terms of political strategy, watering down our message on choice has the potential to leave us seriously vulnerable. Thoughts?
UPDATE: Also check out Kameron's (of Brutal Women) take on the issue at Alas, a Blog.

Why the hell not? If Republicans do it, why can't Democrats?
er... when was the last time the gop had a big-tent approach to abortion? they sure as hell do not have one in their platform. bob dole's suggestion that they do so back in the '96 campaign caused him to lose christian political support and may have cost him the race.
also, i don't particularly want the party that is supposed to stand up for MY interests to go doing a "big tent approach" to welcome those who want to oppress me. the dems have already been pulling this shit for way too many years and it's one of the biggest reasons they couldn't get gore or kerry elected. i don't want republican freaking lite. i want the democratic party. i want there to be a hugely substantial difference between the two, otherwise why bother having partisan politics?
One of properties of the adviser-professional is lively wit and ability to think simultaneously at several levels: at substantial level and level of processes in situations of group interaction, at strategy and tactics level at planning, and also at technical and political level at carrying out of the initial analysis of a situation. Therefore the given talkers for me more likely and remain TALKERS!
