"Coq Roq" sells chicken fries...and groupies

You know, when I first saw the new Burger King commercials pushing their chicken fries by featuring a fake band--Coq Roq--I just thought it was stupid. I mean, the band members were dressed like roosters for fuck’s sake.

But thanks to Nerve I now know that the gimmick is not only stupid, but also pretty gross and sexist. See pic above for confirmation of BK’s assholedom.

UPDATE:
Lakshmi at Alternet tells us that Burger King has pulled the coq-loving caption. Apparently they're saying it was a Flash "malfunction" that caused the captions to go up in the first place. Of course it was...

eh, I'm not sure Nerve is the best place to go for info on sexism, especially given how they basically haze and humiliate their younger writers, and I find it problematic how much they get promoted here, IMHO.

At any rate, it seems that people have forgotten the S&M Chicken thing they [I think] did last time: maybe that was a little bit too out there for their mainstream audiences, but it proved the advertising team revels in degredation; they just had to make it a little more glossy for the second time out of the gates.

The whole lawsuit by Slipknot is a bit on the hilarious side though.

Hmmmm...so we all are denying the existence of groupies?

Groupies do tend to love cock. So what, it's they're choice.
Though I never eat BK, I think that this campaign is more to do with a play on words than any overt sexism. It's about having a sense of humour, and I don't think that anyone has the right to bitch except for the models in the photo.
It would be sexist if the ad featured stereotypical butches whose choice of sexuality was being questioned by the said caption. I mean, is something unfeminist because it's feminine, do we still have a choice to make for ourselves.
Seeing that ad is the only thing that made me laugh today.
