*le sigh* I live in Ohio and, while it has been touted as a 'swing state' it is also one of the states which has introduced legislature to outlaw abortion with no exceptions.
I've also watched as Issue 1 went through, going on record as one of the most restrictive constituitional amendments in the U.S. The fallout has been much as we expected, some 'enterprising' young attorney successfully used Issue 1 to get a batterer off on a DV charge.
It has also played into keeping the courts from giving women restraining orders against battering boyfriends.
Unfortunately, Ohio is quickly falling into the ranks of other states (like Kansas, as you pointed out) Soon, I suspect that we'll be sitting much like S.C. which has passed it's anti-abortion bill entirely, it's simply waiting on the Governors signature to become law. Of course, that signature will come when Roberts takes the bench.
It's distressing to watch everything that women have fought for slowing being picked apart. And I'm sad to be a citizen of Ohio.
