John Ashcroft, not so much.
So it looks like women's breasts are no longer offensive. At least for now.
After more than a three year breast-ban, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has ruled that boobs are back in style:
The “Spirit of Justice” and the “Majesty of Justice,” which loom over the stage in the Great Hall, were blocked from view by curtains installed by the department in January 2002, when former Attorney General John Ashcroft was in office.
The curtains were quietly removed on Friday after a decision by Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Justice Department spokesman Kevin Madden said.
In a more controversial decision, Gonzales announced that the Justice Department is starting production on the much-anticipated Statues Gone Wild video series.

I'd expect nothing less from a Latino. And before you smack me down, I'm a Latina and know 'my men' like our boobs. Why else would there be a restaurant called "Chi-Chi's?" *tongue-firming-in-cheek*
Of course, Ashcroft had the curtains put up in the first place to spite the juvenile humorists who were making fun of photos of him with the statues in view.
David's got it right. If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at immature cameramen and photographers who think seeing a public figure with a giant nipple either side of his head is hi-larious (ok, it kinda is >.>). It was Ashcroft's pride as much as his prudery that led to the curtains being up full-time, and over-focusing on this tends to draw attention away from all the other stupid things he's done.
