Written consent law passes Texas Senate
Yes it's true. Texas teens soon may have to get a note from their parents to obtain an abortion. I guess the state's current notification law wasn't enough. They have to REALLY make sure young women can't make choices for themselves. In writing.
The bill is set to go to the state House.

So, how are they going to prove that the note was actually from the parent? I've forged excuse notes for school before quite easily. That doesn't exactly sound like it'd keep a minor seriously wanting an abortion from attaining one, not taking into consideration the "notification" part. (By the way, what does that consist of? A letter? A phone call?)
Meredith, I'm sure they will assume every single one is a forgery and while it's too bad that it takes 3 months to verify that your dad actually signed the notes since we have a backlog of cases, and what's that? It's too late to get an abortion. Oh well, it couldn't be helped. I guess you'll have to suffer your slut punishment after all.
