Strangest harassment story. Ever.

Talk about animal attraction. (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)

Two San Francisco women who were caretakers for a gorilla have sued their employer, claiming they were fired for "refusing to show the animal their breasts." Um, what?

The lawsuit says the president of the Gorilla Foundation, Francine Patterson, sought to have the women bond with the gorilla by performing "bizarre sexual acts with Koko."

"Through sign language, as interpreted by Patterson, Koko 'demanded' plaintiffs remove their clothing and show Koko their breasts," the lawsuit said.

"Patterson pressured plaintiffs to perform such acts, regularly and consistently, and on at least one occasion, outdoors where others could see," the lawsuit added.

Weirdest. Thing. Ever.

Apparently (and I don't know if this is according to Patterson or not) Koko has a nipple fixation. And Janet Jackson's career seems stalled. I smell a perfect pairing here...

Yeah, that was just me in my monkey suit.

I can't believe they kept falling for it though!

Seriously though, I'd love to see a gorilla in a courtroom. I think Lassie testified once. Or was it Mr. Ed?

A female colleague of a friend (sorry to set off the 'urban myth' warning bells with that phrase, but this is true) was sexually assaulted by a female monkey at a nature reserve. The monkey was so aggressive and demanding that the safer course of action was to give in and let it happen - 'it' being several minutes of frottage. She was later criticised by rangers for encouraging the monkey by not repulsing its advances firmly enough; she received little sympathy about the incident. I think if a man had been in this situation, he would have received even less sympathy, more ridicule, and possibly some suspicion. It doesn't seem to matter what the roles of different genders or even species are - if there is an incident of sexual abuse, the victim is given the blame.

Ladies, please - this is not a feminist issue, but an animal rights issue, as Robin Williams has testified (not in court yet though). See at the end of this interview: http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/01/23/1042911490894.html
