Into the antifeminist lion’s den

If you missed Rebecca Traister’s interview with antifeminist author and pundit Kate O'Beirne, go check it out now. And god be with you.

Then go read Jill at Feministe who analyzes the interview in such depth you’ll feel shamed being in the mere presence of her post. Seriously.

Jill did a good job at rebutting some of O'Beirne's sweeping generalizations and exagerations. I think the whole getting men to stay home and share in housework is O'Beirne's achilles heel. She tries hard to just gloss over it.

There are as many low powered dads out there as there are high powered workplace gals. And those men can be just as capable on diaper patrol as any woman.

It's true that O'Beirne is just another rich Boomer, trying to describe a world she isn't really part of anymore. Things really are different in the younger generation, but for some reason the old folks are getting all the press.

O'Beirne is right about a few big things though. The wage gap may turn out to be mostly a mirage. And a certain brand of feminists do denigrate staying home, and that has to stop.

the thing is there are more beta males that is realized. the alfa males make all the money get all the women, the prestige, get to have flocks of women begging to be their stay at home wife/full time mom, which of course leaves all the beta males, who basically are left picking up the scraps, and end up taking whatever they can get.

That seems amusingly simplistic JJS.

First of all, a good chunk of the so called alpha males are just plain gay.

Secondly, the beta males often get the girl on the sly, while alpha male is busy with his power grab.

Thirdly, and this is a new theory I've been kicking around, there are quite a few Theta males (and females) around. They are not weak and submissive, or dominant and bossy. They just like to do their own thing.
